Is Liquid Damage covered under any of plan?
No, since the plan only covers Screen damage under Cracked Screen plan and manufacturing defects under Extended Warranty plan, so Liquid Damage is NOT covered under any plan.
What are the main Exclusions of the Cracked Screen and Extended warranty features?
Cracked Screen: (Applicable for DoubleGuard and ScreenGuard)
- Any form of physical loss, untraceability or theft of the Mobile Device, or any form of consequential or incidental loss suffered by you arising from the Mobile Device
- Any Breakage other than cracked screen
- Cost that you incurred by yourself to repair the Mobile Device with a third party
Extended Warranty: (Applicable for DoubleGuard and ReGuard)
- Any physical damage or regular wear and tear or gradual deterioration which affects performance
- Non-operating and cosmetic damage to the Mobile Device, such as damage to paintwork, Mobile Device finish, dents or scratches
- Cost that you incurred by yourself to repair the Mobile Device with a third party
What happens if the customer’s handset screen gets a scratch?
If the customer’s handset screen gets a scratch, TechGuard will NOT repair the customer’s handset since TechGuard only covers the Screen damage/Cracked screen.
What is Cool off period?
For a ScreenGuard and DoubleGuard Program, the customer cannot raise a repair request for the first 15 days from the date of sale.
How will the customer get the device link and by when is the customer expected to complete the diagnostic test? (Applicable for Old devices where cracked screen feature is available)
Immediately once protection program is purchased, the link would be shared on the registered mobile number of the customer. The customer should complete the test within 10 days from the date of Sale.
How do I pay my service fee charges?
Customer has 2 options to pay the required service fee for processing the request:
- Online: customer will receive an SMS/ e-mail with the link to make the payment online
- Offline: customer can visit one of the nearest HDFC banks and make the payment there. Details for the offline payment will be shared on your registered e-mail ID.
If a friend/family member of the customer uses the covered device, can the customer file a repair request for the same?
The plan is an IMEI linked plan. Hence unless the ownership of the plan is changed, the customer can file a repair request in case of damage irrespective of usage by a third party at the time of damage.
Once submitting the request, where does the customer have to drop the device for screen repair?
Once the customer has successfully raised the repair request TechGuard will arrange it to be picked via their courier partner.
How long does it take to get a request processed for Cracked Screen?
Once a repair request is raised, the request will be processed in no more than 14 working days post the payment of service fees or submission of necessary documents, whichever is later.
